Then. Now.
IN THE
1960s
Geis’s growth has always been reflected in its fleet. In 1945, Hans Geis purchased his first truck from army surplus. But it soon proved insufficient for the numerous orders. To accommodate his first employee, he therefore invested in a Henschel with a sleeper cab in 1952, and the first Mercedes-Benz truck was added in 1955. The company entered the next decade with six trucks and ten employed drivers – an impressive start for a fleet that today transports goods throughout Europe.

TODAY
2026
More than 60 years later, the size of the fleet has changed dramatically. Currently, around 1,000 trucks are in service with the Geis Group. And the fleet continues to grow: in July 2026, for example, Geis signed a framework agreement with MAN for the delivery of up to 350 new tractor-trailers for Quehenberger. Geis continuously invests in its fleet: in cost-effectiveness, in more sustainable powertrains, and above all in the people behind the wheel. After all, for them, the truck is their workplace. Despite all the changes, that aspect has not changed to this day.
